ANNAGH HIT FOUR PAST NEWRY
Annagh United moved into third spot in the Playr-Fit Championship courtesy of a four-goal victory over Newry City at the BMG Arena.
The visitors had the best of the chances in the opening half-an-hour with Brian Healy coming closest with an effort against an upright which keeper Jason Craughwell eventually gathered at the second attempt.
However Annagh went in at the break on top when, on 42 minutes, Kris Calvert got the decisive touch to a long ball into the box.
Ciaran McGurgan's side doubled their lead early in the second half in somewhat unfortunate circumstances for Newry's Georgie Poynton who sent the ball past his own keeper in off the post after an attempted backpass.
Annagh went further in front on 56 minutes with a low and hard finish from Philip Donnelly from around ten yards before, with 20 minutes remaining, Calvert completed the scoring with his second of the afternoon.
