McATEER AT THE DOUBLE AS MALLARDS FIGHT BACK
Ballinamallard United hit back from two goals down to share the spoils with Ards at Ferney Park.
The visitors moved in front on nine minutes when Aidan Steele converted from the spot after Darius Roohi was brought down as he rounded the keeper.
Steele doubled up for Ards just before the half-hour mark with a back post finish after Roohi had sent the ball over.
The Mallards had a chance to level later in the first half but Aaron Harkin could only fire over after Eamon Scannell had conceded a penalty.
Sean McAteer did pull one back for United early in the second half, however, when Darragh Byrne and Jamie Dunne combined to create the opening.
Then, only a matter of minutes after that, McAteer levelled with the third penalty of the afternoon.
And Ballinamallard had a chance to claim the points late in the game only for Ryan Morris to see a header cleared off the line.
