Institute and HW Welders shared the spoils in a re-arranged clash at the Brandywell on Tuesday evening.
Scoreless at the break, the Welders moved in front ten minutes into the second half when Michael McLellan nodded home at close range after Liam Mullan's initial effort had been parried.
However 'Stute levelled with a quarter-of-an-hour remaining when Gabriel Aduaka beat the offside trap to run onto a through ball and slot past keeper Jack Mills.
