DILLON AND O'SULLIVAN SEAL WIN FOR 'POINT
A goal at either end of the second half helped Warrenpoint Town defeat Dungannon Swifts at Stangmore Park.
Despite the eventual outcome, it was the Swifts that got off to the better start with James Teelan seeing an effort blocked while Kris Lowe's follow up was tipped over by Gabriel Sava.
The chances followed with Rhyss Campbell and Callum Byers both threatening while, for 'Point, Kealan Dillon saw a deflected shot gathered by Samuel Johnston.
Both sides had big moments around the half-hour mark.
Warrenpoint came within a whisker of opening the scoring with a Matthew Knox free-kick which deflected off the wall and smashed against the crossbar.
Then, moments later, Michael Carvill was thwarted by a goalline clearance after being found by Daniel Hughes inside the box.
But the deadlock was broken just three minutes into the second half after Dillon teamed up with Ryan Swan in a neat one-two before slotting the finish past Johnston.
In an effort to get back into the game Dungannon pressed forward, creating openings through Hughes and Carvill before producing a superb stop from Sava to keep out Oisin Smyth's effort.
And they came even closer after that from a Mark Patton cross which was nodded onto an upright before being cleared.
However, 'Point made sure of the victory with five minutes left to go through substitute Alan O'Sullivan with a composed finish after latching onto a long ball forward.
