NO GOALS BUT PLENTY OF ACTION AT THE OVAL
Glentoran and Linfield drew a blank in the Boxing Day derby at the BetMcLean Oval in a game that wasn't without its moments.
Although scoreless at the break, Glentoran did create a number of decent scoring opportunities in the first half.
Jordan Jenkins was first to threaten after beating his marker and sending a left-foot effort wide.
A short time later James Singleton fired over on the follow up after Dylan Connolly's initial shot from a corner was blocked, with Jenkins then attempting to lob keeper David Walsh after James Singleton had flicked Marcus Kane's ball on.
But it was Linfield that came closest to breaking the deadlock around the hour mark when Stephen Fallon directed a header onto the crossbar.
Both sides were reduced to ten men in separate incidents later in the game.
The Blues lost Sam Roscoe following a challenge on David Fisher with around 20 minutes to go, thereby receiving his second caution of the afternoon.
Then, a quarter-of-an-hour after that, Marcus Kane was also dismissed following a second booking for a foul on Joel Cooper.
