SCORELESS AT THE SHOWGROUNDS
Coleraine and Cliftonville played out a scoreless draw at The Showgrounds.
Jamie McGonigle created the first effort of note with nine minutes on the clock when he pounced on a poor backpass only for his subsequent shot to be pushed away by keeper David Odumosu.
At the other end Luke Conlan get past a defender before sending the ball across for Destiny Ojo but he just couldn't get a touch with the goal at his mercy.
McGonigle was involved again later in the first half after winning the ball in the middle of the park before finding Rhyss Campbell but his shot was deflected away for a corner.
Campbell then turned provider to tee up Connor Murray but, again, the effort was deflected to safety.
It was similar tale after the break, with Murray creating the first real opening with a shot from outside the area but Odumosu proved equal to the threat.
The Bannsiders did almost break the deadlock midway through the second half when Jack Keaney attempted to clear the ball under pressure from Declan McManus with the ball rebounding off the Coleraine man only to bounce just the wrong side of the target.
Both sides had half chances in the closing stages, with Matthew Shevlin unable to keep a header on target from Levi Ives' cross while Odhran Casey got on the end of a Micheal Glynn delivery but again couldn't make it count.
