REDS HIT THREE PAST RANGERS
Cliftonville swept to a three-goal defeat of Carrick Rangers at Solitude on Wednesday evening.
The Reds moved in front after 27 minutes after Rory Hale collected the ball on the edge of the area and sent a low effort beyond keeper Jack McIntyre into the bottom corner.
Rangers almost levelled in the last few minutes of the first half when Danny Gibson rattled the woodwork with a fiercely struck effort from a tight angle before keeper Lewis Ridd was able to deal with the rebound.
Cliftonville doubled their advantage on the hour when Alex Parsons rifled home a tremendous strike at the near post to give McIntyre no chance.
Then, right at the end, Stephen McGuinness added number three after the Rangers defence failed to clear the ball allowed him to rifle into the top corner.
