TWO EARLY GOALS AS PORTS SEE OFF LARNE
Two goals early in the first half helped Portadown to victory over Larne at Shamrock Park.
The Ports moved in front with just over a quarter-of-an-hour on the clock after Shay McCartan's free-kick was parried by Rohan Ferguson only as far as Josh Ukek who was quickest to react to find the net.
Then, just two minutes after that, Ahu Obhakhan doubled the home advantage with a close range finish when a McCartan effort was initially tipped away by Ferguson.
Chances were few and far between after the break, although a Steven McCullough corner would have required just a touch to convert it before the ball went out of play.
Later in the second half Olatunde Bayode could only scuff his effort across the face of goal after he got on the end of a slack header while, at the other end, Ryan Mayse blazed over the top after Rabby Minzamba had found him with a through ball.
