LARMOUR GIVES CRUES THE EDGE
Crusaders needed just one goal to get past the on-form Glenavon at Mourneview Park.
Glenavon might have moved in front early on when David McDaid latched onto a Michael O'Connor pass only to see his effort turned around the post by keeper Jonny Tuffey.
At the other end midway through the first half Jarlath O'Rourke found Phillip Lowry with a corner but his effort was cleared just wide of the target.
Play then switched for Niall Quinn to rattle the crossbar with a free-kick just outside the area following a foul on McDaid.
But the deadlock was broken on 43 minutes when Daniel Larmour calmly slotted the ball into the bottom corner from another O'Rourke set piece.
After the break Glenavon keeper Tadhg Ryan did well to keep out a low effort from Jordan Stewart while Lowry then headed just over a little later in the half.
The Crues could have killed the game off right at the end of normal time when Josh O'Connor found himself through on goal but Ryan was able to snatch the ball to make it safe.
