SECOND HALF SWIFTS SINK REDS
Two second half goals saw Dungannon Swifts sweep to victory over Cliftonville at Solitude.
Although scoreless at the break both sides had their chances in the first half.
Jim Magilton's side may have taken the lead early on when Rory Hale played a through ball into Joe Gormley's path but his low effort was well kept out by keeper Alex Henderson.
At the other end Thomas Maguire cut in from the right and sent the ball just narrowly over the top before play switched again for Micheal Glynn to force Henderson into a low stop.
The Swifts then had the ball in the net after John McGovern flicked the ball on for Tomas Galvin, but his close range finish was subsequently ruled out offside.
But the visitors weren't to be denied seven minutes into the second half when James Knowles stepped up on the edge of the area to send a low, curling free-kick into the bottom corner.
Then, just over ten minutes after that, McGovern doubled Dungannon's lead when he nodded home from close range after a corner wasn't cleared by the home defence.
