SIX GOAL THRILLER AT THE OVAL
Glentoran and Glenavon shared six goals in what turned out to be a thrilling encounter at the BetMcLean Oval.
Michael O'Connor edged the visitors in front after 12 minutes from six yards after Sean Carlin found him after cutting in from the left.
Glenavon doubled their lead around the half-hour mark through Harry Lynch when he rose to head Peter Campbell's looping free-kick past Daniel Gyollai.
Joe Thomson pulled one back for Glentoran eight minutes into the second half after pouncing on the rebound after Glenavon keeper Mark Byrne had spilled his initial effort.
Then, on 69 minutes, Jordan Jenkins levelled with a 25-yard strike beyond Byrne before, four minutes after that, Jenkins struck again to fire Glentoran into the lead on the follow-up when Marcus Kane's free-kick came back off an upright.
But the spoils were ultimately shared with a quarter-of-an-hour remaining after substitute Paul McGovern knocked the ball past Gyollai in off the left post when O'Connor's initial shot had been blocked.
