CORBALLY BAGS SKY BLUES WINNER
Ballymena United kept their hopes of making the top six alive with a narrow defeat of Cliftonville at The Showgrounds.
Jim Ervin's side had the better chances in what was a relatively quiet and scoreless first half.
Success Edogun carved out the first effort of note early on after cutting in from the left to test Lewis Ridd but the Reds' keeper comfortably dealt with the threat.
Aaron Jarvis then went a lot closer around ten minutes after that with a fiercely struck 25-yard drive which dropped just wide of the post.
And Patrick McEleney also threatened in the latter stages of the first half with another strike from distance which curled just beyond the top corner.
Cliftonville came close to taking the lead themselves not long after the break when McEleney was on hand to clear off the line while Alex Parsons' follow up was pushed away by Sean O'Neill.
Axel Piesold then fired wide a little later from Conor Pepper's cross as the visitors began to assert themselves more.
However what proved to be Ballymena's winner came with just over ten minutes to go when Kian Corbally sent a left-foot strike past Ridd after Ben Kennedy had intercepted the ball to tee him up.
