GLENS AND 'GERS DRAW A BLANK
Glentoran had to settle with sharing the points away to Carrick Rangers in a scoreless draw at Taylors Avenue.
The Glens might have moved in front after just ten minutes when Ciaran Coll crossed from the left for David Fisher to head back off the woodwork.
Then, around ten minutes after that, Fisher was denied by the post again after intercepting the ball on the edge of the area.
Glentoran continued to threaten early in the second half when Joe Thomson had a go from 25 yards but, at the other end, Rangers also had a chance when Danny Gibson sent the ball over from the right to force keeper Daniel Gyollai into tipping it over the top.
And Stephen Baxter's side might have bagged the winner as the minutes ticked down when Nedas Maciulaitis played the ball in for Ethan Boyle to have a go with a diving header cleared off the line by Marcus Kane before, from the rebound, Maciulaitis was denied by a superb reaction save from Gyollai.
