PORTS AND SWIFTS BATTLE TO A POINT APIECE
Dungannon Swifts got the point they needed to secure a top six finish after drawing with Portadown at Shamrock Park.
James Teelan carved out the first effort of note early on after being played in by Shay McCartan but he could only drag his right foot finish the wrong side of the post.
Chances were scarce, though, but the visitors might have found a way through just before the break when John McGovern did well to evade a few challenges before being denied by Aaron McCarey.
But the Swifts did move in front on 72 minutes after McCarey had initially denied Kealan Dillon before Andrew Mitchell followed up to blast home from close range.
It got worse for the Ports soon after that when they were reduced to ten men following Douglas Wilson's second caution of the evening.
However, the home side did strike back on 79 minutes to secure a point when Steven McCullough's free-kick from just outside the area took a deflection past keeper Declan Dunne.
